1999 WAEC Essay and Letter Writing Questions

Question: You are in your final year of secondary school. Write a letter to your uncle who is an influential person in the society, telling him what you intend to do next and asking for his assistance.

Note before:

This is an informal letter. The examiner will be looking for the following unique features of an informal letter.

Address – 1

Date – yes

Tone – informal (that means you can ask about the recipient’s health, family and work) in the opening section

Title – No

Closing – one name, “Best wishes, regards, your nephew”, etc

Signature – No (informal letters DON’T have to be signed)
