And so the journey begins
I noticed that members of my family often asked me to help proofread or fine-tune their writings.
Sometimes, they relied on me to write the entire material. Whether it is a letter to a school addressing issues concerning their children, or a letter to a government agency complaining about negligence or a service failure on the part of the agency, they always seemed to have one writing job or the other for me to help them out with.
Other times they wanted speeches or announcements to be written for them. Gradually, I noticed my friends started wanting me to help them as well. And then help their own friends. Colleagues got in on the freebie train too!
Then I figured, why not make a website where I post samples of letters, essays, and other writings, so that EVERYONE who needs such help can go there and view a sample to guide them.
Then I thought, what better place to source for sample questions and types of writings than from the yearly examination conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is an important certification which students in the final year of secondary school education must obtain by passing the minimum required core subjects in their area of specialization.
Individuals outside the school system may also participate in the WASSCE examination but at different times from the examination for school candidates. However, the standard for both examinations remains the same.
There, I can find numerous letter writing and essay questions which I will answer to provide a guide both for my friends and students who are candidates for the WAEC SSCE.
Outside the letters and essays, I also want to share some of my so-called outlandish views!
